Fried Green Tomatoes

As you may have guessed I love Tomatoes. And when there are still green tomatoes left on the vine they can’t be wasted. As a side dish or an appetizer fried green tomatoes are a fall favorite.
Ingredients
3-4 Green Tomatoes (Beefsteak are always great)
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup milk
2 beaten eggs
1 cup fine bread crumbs
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Slice tomatoes as thick or thin as you like (we like ours on the thicker side). Begin heating oil in the skillet.

Put flour, eggs, milk and breadcrumbs into shallow dishes.

While oil is heating dip tomatoes one at a time into each dish following this order: milk, flour, egg, breadcrumbs.

Put tomatoes into skillet to fry (be sure to turn on your overhead fan so you don’t set off the fire alarm!).

Fry tomatoes to your liking then take them out and serve them up! Enjoy this yummy treat!
